Without a licence and insurance your registration cannot be completed, and without registration you cannot enter the takeoff.
Last updated 2026-09-01The documents you need to fly at Babadağ come under two headings: a licence showing your pilot qualification, and valid insurance. Without them your Slot Service Centre registration cannot be completed, and without registration you cannot enter the takeoff area.

Licence
The directive requires amateur pilots, both Turkish and foreign nationals, to hold at least a P3 certificate or licence.

Insurance
Amateur pilots are responsible for holding personal accident insurance and for keeping it current. It must be valid at the time of registration and cover your flying dates.
Commercial tandem flights additionally require personal accident or seat insurance together with third party liability insurance. That does not apply to you directly as an amateur pilot, but it is what a passenger buying a tandem flight should be asking about.
Foreign pilots
The licence and insurance requirements are the same for foreign nationals. The directive adds one thing: amateur and foreign national pilots may fly only on condition that they comply with the civil aviation rules published in the Turkish AIP and in the directive itself.
The Slot Service Centre does not publish a full list of the documents required with an application. If you are coming from abroad, ask in advance whether your licence is accepted and which documents are wanted, at shmfethiye@kapadokya.edu.tr. A missing document means a wasted trip up the mountain.
