Terms used in this guide, with their Turkish equivalents. Both English and Turkish words circulate among pilots flying here, so this page collects them in one place. The Turkish column is the wording used throughout the Turkish version of the guide, and it is what you will hear on a local briefing.

Why consistent terms matter

Different words for the same thing cause misunderstandings on a briefing and on the radio. Mixing terms is a particular problem on a shared flight with pilots who do not share your language. A single wording is used throughout this guide.
